The Antique Auction and a Family's Tale in "Camellia Sisters"

Camellia is one of Vietnamese favourite flowers by aristocrats society since the ancient era. We still can see them blooming in the Vietnamese gardens and temples along the perfume river in Hue today. Camellia became an untold tale in Ly family, a Vietnamese courtiers' descendants; Han, Hong and Linh  who are all female and totally different characters in the film.

"Camellia Sisters" by director "Bảo Nhân" and "Namcito", a Vietnamese style "Crazy Rich Asians", depicts the story of three sisters who run the antique auction business. Each one also keep their own secret, suffering and hide their true feelings behind the marvelous lifestyles. They always back to the old capital city of Hue, to bring the new collections include the queen's imperial robes which is the most precious treasure in Ly family.

Unexpectedly, the royal piece was stolen at night before an antique auction, they are struggling and found herself after lost family's gems.

Like many popular Vietnamese movies, the twisted ending make us feel so surprise through several sub plots like a handsome guy (Khuong Le) with camera who appeared mystically and mety Linh (Kaity Nguyen) at night, a tricky business and loves since Vietnam changing rapidly and became the world's fastest economies nowadays.

The stunning clothes and hair dressing add the sense of gorgeous when the Western high fashion getting popular among all generations globally include Vietnam, directors also interpreted it similar to the Vietnamese traditional couture and craftsmanship in royal court. Starring by many renowned Vietnamese stars like Le Khanh, Kaity Nguyen, Hong Van, Hoang Dung, Khuong Le, Jun Vu and many more.

The movie made its premiere in Japan at Osaka Asian Film Festival on March 2022, received the positive critics and ticket were sold out before showing a week.

ดอกคามิเลียเป็นดอกไม้ที่ได้รับความนิยมในหมู่ขุนนางชนชั้นสูงของเวียดนามตั้งแต่สมัยโบราณ เห็นได้จากสวนเวียดนามและวัดพุทธที่ตั้งขนาบแม่น้ำหอมในเมืองเว้ นครหลวงเก่า และยังเป็นตำนานที่ถูกเล่าขานกันในตระกูลลี่ ขุนนางเก่าแก่ในราชสำนักที่สืบทอดลูกหลานมาจนถึงทายาทรุ่นปัจจุบัน นั่นคือ สามสาวพี่น้อง "ฮัน", "หง" และ "หลิน"

ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Camellia Sisters โดยผู้กำกับ Bảo Nhân และ Namcito อาจทำให้หลายคนนึกถึงหนังรางวัลออสการ์เรื่อง Crazy Rich Asians ในแบบเวียดนาม เล่าเรื่องราวของสามสาวพี่น้องเจ้าของธุรกิจประมูลของโบราณ แต่ละคนต่างเก็บงำความลับ ซ่อนความรู้สึกส่วนตัวไว้ในใจ ภายนอกดูเปี่ยมไปด้วยความสุขและใช้ชีวิตอย่างหรูหราสุดๆ พวกเธอมักเดินทางไปเมืองเว้ เพื่อนำของโบราณ เครื่องประดับล่้ำค่า รวมทั้งฉลองพระองค์จักรพรรดินี สมบัติล้ำค่าที่สุดของตระกูลลี่มาเปิดประมูล

แต่แล้วเกิดเหตุคาดไม่ถึง เมื่อฉลองพระองค์ถูกโจรกรรมก่อนเปิดประมูลในบ้านตระกูลลี่เพียงไม่กี่ชั่วโมง สามสาวต่างดิ้นรนจนกระทั่งค้นพบตัวตนที่แท้จริงหลังสูญเสียของล้ำค่าไป การใช้ชีวิตอย่างหรูหราในคฤหาสน์หลังใหญ่ ขณะต้องทนทุกข์ทรมานกับความรู้สึกร้อนรุ่มในใจ พร้อมกับสืบทอดธรรมเนียมเก่าแก่ของตระกูล

เช่นเดียวกับสูตรหนังเวียดนามยอดนิยมยุคปัจจุบัน ตอนจบถูกขมวดปมด้วยพล็อตรองที่หลายคนคาดไม่ถึง ถึงกับอึ้งไปเลยทีเดียว เช่น ชายหนุ่มหน้าตาดีสะพายกล้องปรากฏตัวในป่ายามค่ำคืน กลวิธีการโกงในธุรกิจ รวมทั้งชีวิตในแบบที่ผู้คนโหยหาขณะที่เวียดนามกำลังพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็วจนกลายเป็นประเทศที่เติบโตเร็วที่สุดในโลกในปัจจุบัน

นักแสดงสวมเครื่องแต่งกายและเครื่องประดับที่คัดเอาเฉพาะแบรนด์ดังระดับโลกเท่านั้นล้วนสะท้อนค่านิยมและกระแสลักชัวรี่แฟชั่นจากโลกตะวันตกที่ไหลบ่าเข้าสู่ประเทศต่างๆ ทั่วโลก แม้แต่ประเทศสังคมนิยมอย่างเวียดนาม ผู้กำกับใช้ความแยบยลของเนื้อเรื่อง ตีความแฟชั่นชั้นสูงให้รวมไปถึงชุดเดรสผ้าปักลายของราชวงศ์และงานฝีมือสกุลช่างชั้นสูงของเวียดนามได้อย่างแนบเนียน นำแสดงโดยดารายอดนิยมชาวเวียดนามอย่าง Le Khanh, Kaity Nguyen, Hong Van, Hoang Dung, Khuong Le , Jun Vu และอีกมากมาย

ภาพยนตร์เปิดตัวรอบปฐมทัศน์ที่ญี่ปุ่นในงาน Osaka Asian Film Festival เมื่อเดือนมีนาคม 2565 ที่ผ่านมา ได้รับเสียงวิจารณ์เชิงบวกมากมาย และตั๋วจำหน่ายหมดเกลี้ยงก่อนวันฉายถึง 1 สัปดาห์

ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้เปิดตัวครั้งแรกในเดือนมีนาคมปีที่แล้ว ขึ้นแท่นภาพยนตร์ทำเงินติดอันดับต้นในเวียดนาม ตามไปค้นหาความลับกันว่าทำไมคฤหาสน์ตระกูลลี่ถึงไม่มีดอกคามิเลียสีแดงบานเลยสักดอกเดียว?
