The Japanese title of a Thai movie "How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies" or "Lahn Mah" which was a huge hit all over Asia, has been decided to be "Obāchan to Boku no Yakusoku" (おばあちゃんと僕の約束/ My Promise with Grandma) on yesterday.
Depicts the story of M (Bilkin Puttipong), a university dropout low on money volunteers to take care of his terminally ill grandmother (Usha Samekham) in the hope of pocketing an inheritance, later her learned many things from his grandma through her modest and hard-working life.
The film was hit during it was released in Thailand, and became a social phenomenon worldwide through social media and it was the first Thai film to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards' Best International Feature Film category.
The Japanese title for this film is announced and decided from the audience who voted at the preview screening. Keywords such as "home," "promise," "porridge," "memories," and "inheritance" were mentioned mostly. Finally it was decided with a title "My Promise with Grandma"
The film will make its Japan premiere at Osaka Asian Film Festival this March and set to release at Shinjuku Piccadilly and other theaters in Japan nationwide from June 13th, 2025.
Moreover, Bilkin is one of nominees for The Best New Comer Awards in 18th Asia Film Awards which will be announced on 16 March 2025 at Hong Kong.

เป็นหนังไทยอีกเรื่องจากค่าย GDH ที่ได้รับความนิยมอย่างมาก จนกลายเป็นกระแสทางสื่อโซเชียลมีเดียที่ส่งต่อไปทั่วเอเชีย และยังเป็นหนังไทยเรื่องแรกที่ได้รับเลือกให้เข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์ สาขาภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศยอดเยี่ยมด้วย
ชื่อเรื่องภาษาญี่ปุ่นของหนังเรื่องนี้ตัดสินจากผู้ชมที่ร่วมโหวตในวันฉายรอบพรีวิวที่ญี่ปุ่น โดยส่วนใหญ่กล่าวถึงคำสำคัญๆ อย่าง "บ้าน" "คำสัญญา" "ข้าวต้ม" "ความทรงจำ" และ "มรดก" ในที่สุดก็ได้ชื่อเรื่องว่า "คำสัญญาของผมกับยาย"
My Promise With Grandma กำหนดฉายรอบปฐมทัศน์ที่ญี่ปุ่นในงานเทศกาลหนัง Osaka Asian Film Festival เดือนมีนาคมนี้ จากนั้นจะฉายที่โรงภาพยนตร์ชินจูกุพิคคาดิลลี และโรงภาพยนตร์อื่นๆ ทั่วประเทศ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 13 มิถุนายน 2568
นอกจากนี้ บิลกิ้นยังได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลใหญ่อย่าง The Best New Comer Awards ในงานประกาศผลรางวัลภาพยนตร์เอเชีย Asia Film Awards ครั้งที่ 18 ความร่วมมือของสามเทศกาลหนังที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในเอเชียถึงสามงาน (เทศกาลหนังปูซาน ฮ่องกง และโตเกียว) ซึ่งจะประกาศในวันที่ 16 มีนาคม 2025 ที่ฮ่องกงด้วย ให้เราตามไปชมและร่วมลุ้นกันต่ออีกหลายๆ ประเทศ ฮ้อตข้ามปีเลยทีเดียว
