Tokyo - The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) in Tokyo, under Mr. Chantaphat Panjamanon, Minister Counselor (Commercial Affairs), led 12 Thai companies and representatives of Thai film companies to participate in TIFFCOM 2025 (Tokyo International Film Festival Content Market) in Tokyo, Japan, through the "THAI BL & GL's MAGIC - A GLOBAL CHEMISTRY" project.
The event resulted in business negotiations worth over US$6,000,000, indicating continued growth in interest in Asian content and supporting Thailand's soft power in the Japanese market.
Participation in TIFFCOM 2025, one of the most important film and television content licensing marketplaces in Asia, has officially concluded with a successful atmosphere at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center in Tokyo, Japan.
The event began with a reception on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, providing Thai businesses with the opportunity to networking with international partners before the main activities commenced intensively from Wednesday, October 29 to Friday, October 31, 2025.
This year, TIFFCOM 2025 maintained its standard as a leading platform for international content business negotiations, with over 322 exhibitors and industry experts (128 exhibitors from Japan and 194 exhibitors from other countries) participated.
Twelve Thai companies had the opportunity to negotiate the sale of licenses and distribution rights for various BL (Boys' Love) series, which garnered significant interest from attendees. A summary of transactions conducted during the event exceeded US$6,000,000 (immediate value of US$270,000, projected value within 1-2 years: US$1,910,000, projected value within 3-5 years: US$3,820,000).
This participation reflected the continuously increasing interest in Asian content, particularly Thailand's BL industry, representing a crucial opportunity to promote Thai soft power and generate revenue internationally.
The event was attended by the 12 Thai companies, their Japanese partners and representatives of the actors.
