The ZITA TAN FW25 collection, titled "One Day of Everyday," was unveiled on March 29th at Shanghai Fashion Week. Staying true to its surrealist philosophical design ethos, the brand employs a harmonious blend of bold and delicate tailoring, complemented by abstract physical performances, aiming to explore the sudden self-discovery amidst prolonged contradictions and emotional control. Through an introspective lens, the collection examines the daily lives of individuals, revealing the interplay between body and spirit, agency and materiality, and the pursuit of personal stability and equilibrium within the fleeting span of a single day.
ZITA TAN seeks to materialize abstract concepts while embedding elusive imagery within tangible expressions. The presence of red and white spiral patterns on backless gowns, reminiscent of the fusion of blood vessels and flesh, echoes the brand's enduring fascination with marine spiral structures, delving into the profound connection between humanity and nature.
The use of 3D printing technology imbues the garments with expressive, exaggerated silhouettes, a clarion call to futurism within the design language. Simultaneously, the extensive use of knitted fabrics and hand-painted prints conveys a deep invocation of primal emotions. This entangled contrast interrogates the essence of human existence in contemporary and future societies, striving to strike a balance between technological prowess and emotional resonance, and to explore the stirrings of primal perception under the shadow of futurism.
Furthermore, the brand boldly incorporates surreal physical performances into the presentation, highlighting the gentle yet enduring nature of human existence. Models move abstractly within a soundscape crafted by background music and layered textual narration, interacting with everyday objects that have undergone spiral transformations. This recreates the rhythm of daily life, constructing a nexus where humanistic spirit intersects with technology and nature.
The garments, emphasizing fluidity and drape, transcend mere external adornment. Instead, they metaphorically embody intimate expressions akin to strands of hair, evoking the enduring warmth of the soil in Pina Bausch's The Rite of Spring.
About ZITA TAN
ZITA TAN, officially launched in 2023 in London, is an eponymous brand founded by its creative director. We aspire to establish an artistic fashion brand with the dream of creating and producing all household items ourselves. Currently, our artistic offerings extend beyond custom-made clothing to include vases, pure silver jewelry, accessories, dog apparel, oil paintings, and more.
Drawing inspiration from surrealist philosophy and marine spiral structures, the brand explores the profound connections between humanity and nature. By integrating 3D printing technology with hand-painted prints, ZITA TAN showcases futuristic innovation in fashion design while preserving the unique texture and romantic essence of handcrafted artistry.
The design philosophy emphasizes fluidity and drape, using soft knitted materials to precisely sculpt the human form and highlight the beauty of natural curves. In terms of color application, the brand combines 3D modeling with ZITA's iconographic language to extend into multidimensional garment silhouettes.
ZITA TAN views clothing not merely as external adornment but as a medium for individual identity expression and psychological protection. Each piece serves as an artistic vessel, creating a convergence of nature, technology, and humanistic spirit. Through the language of fashion, the brand conveys the profound aesthetics of mysticism.
