What's New This Autumn

New York-base designers' label PRIVATE POLICY by Chinese designer Siying Qu, Haoran li  released its AW2025 in Shanghai Fashion Week. 

Its designs have not only been frequently featured in mainstream fashion magazines at home and abroad, but have also won the favor of a number of popular stars, including Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Troy Sivan, Billie Eilish, Rose Park Chae-young, GOT7's Jackson Wang, Jackson Yee, Chris Lee, Ni Ni, Liu Wen and other well-known artists and supermodels.

SHUSHU/TONG Autumn/Winter 2025-26 is debuted in under the theme "Mutual References", exploring duality and identity. The collection was inspired by Diane Arbus’s 1967 photograph "Identical Twins," which portrays two sisters whose similar appearance masks differing expressions.

When you think of the traditional Chinese cheongsam, you might picture its vintage elegance from a Wong Kar-wai film. But what happens when you infuse that centuries-old heritage with neon pop art, Hong Kong cultural nostalgia, rebellious and avant-garde spirit? Enter SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN.

As the first Hong Kong-based cultural and artistic IP brand to be named as "Hong Kong Top Brand," this visionary label is turning the international fashion world on its head.

At the heart of the SPARKLE brand is a love letter to its hometown. Designer Karen Chan who lived in US and Canada for 15 years before returning to her roots. She wanted to bridge the gap between East and West. Instead of abandoning traditional techniques, Chan apprenticed under legendary Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors, such as Master Fung Yau Choi, to master the intricate art of authentic, handmade cheongsam-making.

African fashion designers from South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and more 12 countries in Africa unveiled their collections first time in Shanghai Fashion Week 2025 last March, showcased a range of traditional design and Afrofuturism from 22 brands.

The key designers including Rich Mnisi, David Tlale, Mzukisi Mbane (Imprint ZA), Palesa Mokubung (Mantsho), and the creative duo Jessica Jane & Wandile Molebatsi (Molebatsi), expanding their opportunity to China market and global buyers from Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan. 

Although he didn't introduce his brand this time, but Laduma Ngxokolo, founder and designer of MaXhosa also came to cheer his fellow South African designers.
