VEIN SS2026 "HURT COMMUNE"

“Pain” calls our own body into question, and in doing so, makes its presence bring into focus. We move through our days carrying subtle discomforts and hidden aches, often overlooking the moments when such pain throws the weight of another's touch into vivid relief.

“The moment I was injured, I was struck by the stress and isolation of a body that could not move, and yet, alongside it, I felt the warmth of my mate’s devoted hand. That small act of care stirred a quiet hope for the next step forward.”

The collection weaves together direct humour and poetic insight, transforming the unique proportions of medical devices and forms of taping into design elements.

Details that echo the forms of arm-cover bags with supple curves, ankle supports, and elbow pads carry with them a kind of functional beauty once found in clinical settings—now reimagined as allegories, resonating inseparably with the body's lines of motion. Even the bandages, scribbled with hand-drawn logos like casual graffiti, are essential to the narrative.

The over-jacket, inheriting its structure from the 2025 Autumn/Winter season, features two front buttons that allow the silhouette at the waist to shift while maintaining the integrity of the shoulder line. VEIN’s ongoing exploration of concise construction responds intuitively to the wearer's movements, composing the space between body and garment. Silhouettes span from tight and fixed to loose and baggy, while oversized, irregularly shaped tank tops expand the range of spatial choices between fabric and body. Materials such as distressed bulky Terry that balances abrasion with durability, deeply textured organic cotton waffle, and a silk-cashmere blend that breathes with the wind, embody a practical response to extreme summer climates and an unforced sense of lightness.

Fabrics with a hazy texture and finish, paired with a foggy colour palette: unfold across hues of pink, beige, orange, purple, mint green, off-white, and pale grey. With a blurred, abstract presence, these pieces gently absorb the body’s subtle shifts and fluctuations in sensation— embracing the wearer through both sight and touch.

“HURT” and “COMMUNE” — both nouns and verbs — suggest that to be wounded and to share emotional resonance can occur simultaneously. The presentation and the inspiration behind its uninhibited styling lies in a rediscovery of moments marked by pain, devotion, and empathy.
