Fresh from a triumphant swept at the 78th Cannes Film Festival where her latest feature "A Useful Ghost", secured the prestigious Grand Prix at Critics’ Week. Mai Davika arrived at the Busan Cinema Center not just as a global fashion icon, but as the face of a Thai film industry renaissance.
At the evening, Davika chose a look that mirrored the film's own blend of the surreal and the sublime. Clad in a voluminous, architectural custom ball gown by Paris-based designer Stephane Rolland . She moved with a statuesque grace that halted the frantic flashbulbs of the international press. The choice of Rolland perfectly underscored her transition from a regional superstar to a formidable presence on the global festival circuit.
"A Useful Ghost" by Thai director "Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke", Mai portrays as Nut, a woman who dies from respiratory failure due to dust pollution, only to return as a ghost possessing a vacuum cleaner. It is a role that demands a delicate balance of deadpan humor and poignant vulnerability.
The film made its long-awaited Asia premiere in Busan International Film Festival. This isn't just a story about a haunted appliance in a storage, it’s a sharp political allegory and a testament to the "soft power" which Thailand is currently projecting across the globe.

คืนนี้ใหม่เลือกสวมชุดราตรีโอต์กูตูร์สั่งตัดพิเศษโดย "สเตฟาน โรลันด์" ดีไซเนอร์ชาวฝรั่งเศส ตัวเดรสโดดเด่นด้วยแมทธีเรียลสีดำขลับและโครงชุดที่ดูราวกับงานประติมากรรมที่มีชีวิต ทันทีที่เธอก้าวย่างบนพรมแดง ความเงียบงันชั่วขณะเกิดขึ้นก่อนที่เสียงชัตเตอร์จะดังระรัวขึ้นอีกครั้ง ทุกย่างก้าวบนพรมแดงสะท้อนถึงความลงตัวระหว่าง "ความลึกลับ" และ "ความสง่างาม" สอดคล้องกับธีมหนังที่เธอแสดงนั่นเอง
การมาเยือนปูซานครั้งนี้จึงไม่ใช่เพียงแค่การมาเดินพรมแดงทั่วไป แต่เป็นการร่วมเปิดตัวหนังรอบปฐมทัศน์ในเอเชีย ใหม่รับบทเป็น "นัท" หญิงสาวที่เสียชีวิตจากมลพิษทางอากาศและกลับมาสิงใน "เครื่องดูดฝุ่น" เพื่อปกป้องครอบครัว บทบาทนี้ไม่เพียงพิสูจน์ฝีมือการแสดงของเธอเท่านั้น แต่ยังส่งให้เธอกลายเป็นตัวแทนของ "ซอฟพาวเวอร์ไทย" รวมทั้งพัฒนาการของหนังผีไทย และอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ไทยที่กำลังเฉิดฉายบนเวทีโลก
