Converse opened its first flagship store in Japan, CONVERSE STORE HARAJUKU, in Harajuku district, Tokyo on Saturday, July 20th as a new base for experiencing the brand.
Based on the concept "Where we come from, where we are going?", the new store offer a wide lineup of shoes, apparel, and miscellaneous goods, from classic models with a long history to the latest models upgraded with modern technology and sensibilities, and propose the brand experience you never seen before in a space that combines elements of "basketball," Converse's roots and the "street culture".
The store also offer limited items and exclusive events for the flagship store. Moreover, the original goods is exclusively avail for the store, such as collaboration rugs with "MIYOSHI RUG," a handmade rug manufacturer in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture.
The store design was handled by "TRIPSTER", which handles various store designs and architectural direction both in Japan and overseas.
The design which embodies the concept, such as the bold asphalt laid on the floor and the footwear display reminiscent of a basketball goal, creates a unique space with gimmicks.
