The main visual for Osaka Comic Con 2025 has finally been decided!
The "Main Visual Contest", a Comic Con specialty, is a public contest to decide the visual that will be the "face of Comic Con". Since its 4th event in 2019, the number of contest applicants has increased every year. The "Main Visual Contest" has now become a popular content that is widely loved among Comic Con fans. This year, too, masterpieces from all over the world, neither professionals nor amateurs, general public or students, all gathered! The main visual that will showcase this year's "Osaka Comic Con" has finally been decided! After the selection process, the work that was selected as the grand prize is created by kimu!
Kimu is a watercolor illustrator and graphic designer from Nara Prefecture, Japan. After won the Grand Prix, Kimu said,
"Thank you for selecting me as the Grand Prix winner! I feel like a dream, and I can't believe it... I love Comic-Con, and the venue, INTEX OSAKA where is a place that holds many memories from my student days, and this year, the Osaka Expo is also held... I am very honored to have been involved with this event, in this place, this year. Comic Con is an event filled with dreams and aspirations, such as meeting celebrities, cosplaying as a favourite character, and requesting commissions from comic artists. I created a visual that seems to overflow with those dreams and aspirations as "brightness". With the Osaka Expo which is held nearby this year, I would be happy if the visual will inspire those who have never been to Comic Con before and plan to go for the first time, make them think, "Wow, there's such an interesting event! Should I go?" Everyone, from the exhibitors to visitors, are heroes, and I sincerely hope that this event will be filled with encounters, new discoveries, dreams, and "brightness"! "
The main visual of the Grand Prix winner by kimu, will be used on the official website, pamphlets, and Comic Con goods in Osaka Comic Con 2025. As a bonus prize, kimu will be awarded an exhibition booth (one booth) in the Artist Alley corner at Osaka Comic Con 2025, where Kimu's works will be exhibited and sold. This corner is so popular, together with artists and creators who are known in American comics such as Marvel Comics and DC Comics and they participating every year. In addition, all submitted works, including the Grand Prix work and the Excellence Award winners, will be exhibited at the Osaka Comic Con 2025 venue! Please come to the venue in person and enjoy the colorful and impressive works here!
