Japanese director Akio Fujimoto with producer Sujauddin Karimuddin from "LOST LAND" attend the Red Carpet and Closing Ceremony in Bangkok International Film Festival 2025.
Prior to its Southeast Asia premiering at #BKKIFF, Lost Land won the Special Orizzonti Jury Prize at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in September 2025.
During his 12 years working in Myanmar, Akio Fujimoto had heard stories of the oppression the Rohingya faced, but had been unable to speak openly about it because it was taboo. This silence became a burden, and it inspired him to make the film Lost Land. The film reflects the harsh reality of the stateless Rohingya living in a foreign land, blending reality with fantasy. Fujimoto hopes the film will help bridge the gap between the Rohingya and people around the world.

ตลอดระยะเวลา 12 ปีที่ทำงานในเมียนมา อากิโอะ ฟูจิโมโตะ ได้ยินเรื่องราวการกดขี่ข่มเหงชาวโรฮิงญา แต่ไม่สามารถเปิดเผยเรื่องราวเหล่านี้ได้เพราะเป็นเรื่องต้องห้าม ความเงียบงันนี้กลายเป็นภารกิจ และเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เขาลุกขึ้นมาทำภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Lost Land สะท้อนให้เห็นภาพความจริงอันโหดร้ายของชาวโรฮิงญาที่ไม่มีตัวตนทางกฏหมายอาศัยในต่างแดน ฟูจิโมโตะหวังว่าภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้จะช่วยนำเสนอเรื่องราวของพวกเขาและเชื่อมช่องว่างระหว่างชาวโรฮิงญากับผู้คนทั่วโลก
