Hidetoshi Nishijima interviewed "Joe" Apichatpong Weerasethakul at Tokyo film festival

Actor Hidetoshi Nishijima after talked with "Joe" Apichatpong Weerasethakul , a renowned Thai film director at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya in 34th Tokyo International Film Festival.

This week, "What Did You Eat Yesterday? (きのう何食べた?) The movie, an adaptation of a hit manga series he starred as a lead character is also showing in theaters. Director Joe is well known from his distinctive style narrative and artistic visual he captured at the locals in all his films, like "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives", "Blissfully Yours", "Tropical Malady"

His Cannes Award winning film "Memoria" also premiered in Japan this Monday. Actor Hidetoshi also liked his way of interpretation about "Sacred" and "God's Spirit" in the woods and feeling of secrets through his latest film. 

"Sacred is our awareness, when you talk with someone you are connected, it's magical kind of camera. It not born to please everyone, it's a kind of personality", Joe said.

Joe said at Tokyo International Film Festival that he keep continue crossing the borders by not limited himself only in Thailand, but he also find the other countries like in Latin America or Europe and maintain his view on the films, he also said that he still needs to do the films in Thailand, his hometown as well, to support the new generations and the democracy movement in Thailand.

ผู้กำกับเจ้ยกล่าวถึงผลงานเรื่องต่อไปที่ไม่จำกัดตัวเขาเพียงในไทย แต่ยังคงค้นหาสถานที่ถ่ายทำและโอกาสทั้งในลาตินอเมริกาและยุโรป คงมุมมองการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวในแบบของเขา และจะทำหนังที่บ้านเกิดในไทย เพื่อคนรุ่นใหม่และการเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตย
