Blue Pongtiwat, Takumi Kitamura at TUMI's new flagship store in Omotesando Tokyo

TUMI, a leading global lifestyle and travel brand, has announced the launch of its first flagship store in Asia-Pacific region. Redesigned with an inspiration from the brand's iconic 19 Degree collection, located in Omotesando, a luxury fashion shopping district in Tokyo. It's also the first store of the brand to have this design.

To celebrate the new store opening, TUMI held an exclusive preview event on 20th December 2023, honored by Victor Sanz, Creative Director of TUMI, the executive team, business partners, medias in Asia-Pacific region. A famous Japanese superstar Takumi Kitamura and Thai actor Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen, an important guest from Thailand also attended the event.

This store's unique design is inspired by 19 Degree collection and Michael Murphy's art installations. The new flagship store have space more 2,000 square ft. with many attractive design elements.

The iconic shape of the 19 Degree collection stands atop a 3D facade that features hundreds of LED lights, more than 250 aluminum panels and interior pillars created with edge curve cutting technique.

Inside the building is decorated with the aluminum sculptures from 19 Degree collection by talented artist Michael Murphy who created an illusion with 19 Degree aluminum pieces that formed into the logo "T" of TUMI when visitors walk around.

Moreover, the sleek "T" shape can be seen on all standing furniture. The new store  used many innovative materials such as modern designed marble floors with stylish lines and polished stainless steel, included the rounded edges that create a warm atmosphere.

A circular seating area inspired by an art gallery. With a digital screen that goes up to the ceiling and a magnetic wall that will be changed in each season, to add more dimensions on the 19 Degree Aluminum Sculpture by Michael Murphy.

“We are so excited to launch the redesigned TUMI store. This store is not just a flagship store in Omotesando area and the TUMI's first store in Asia-Pacific region, But it's also one of the brand's most innovative stores in global scale.

We have brought unbeatable quality, the excellent design and technical innovation that defines the world of TUMI with its unique design. Inspired by our 19 Degree collection, from 3D façade sculptures to modern store décor materials. Each detail and element is carefully placed and reflects the DNA of the TUMI brand,” said Victor Sanz, TUMI Creative Director.

The event also presented a performance by DJ KEKKE, an art installation for TUMI Fragrance by Japanese artist Tomokazu Fukuji and calligrapher Hideya Kitamura, who created a leather-covered notebook from TUMI as a gift to all guests, included the fun activities such as riding the TUMI 19 Degree Bus.

In addition to the new products such as the 19 Degree aluminum backpack, handbags and briefcases, This Asia-Pacific regional flagship store also offering the highlighted items from TUMI's Spring 2024 collection.
