Actress Aoi Miyazaki (Nana, If Cats Disappeared From the World) attended a talk event for a film "My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?" (Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani? / ćØćŖ・ćØćŖ・ć¬ć・ćµććÆćæć) with actor Tadanobu Asano and Masaya Nakahara in Tokyo International Film Festival on October 2022. She shared her memories with director Shinji Aoyama who passed away from cancer last March.
Since she met him, Aoi have participated in Shinji Aoyama's films such as "Eureka Eureka" and "Sad Vacation".
Aoi Miyazaki: At first, I had an impression about him, i though he was a taciturn director, but when I getting older, I realized that he is a kind of smiling person and fun. He is like a father"
Masaya Nakahara who plays with Asano Tadanobu, jumped into the stage.
"It was so impressive to see both of them (Masaya and Asano) smiling all the time when we worked together on those day", Aoi Miyazaki said.
It was my acting, i was said to keep smiling and teasing director until he getting angry" Masaya Nakahara replied.
"Eh!" Aoi surprised. Asano told " Yes"
The film took locations in Hokkaido. Asano continuely said "We all went out to eat and drink, but I can't drink alcohol, so I asked director Shinji what kind of alcohol I could drink, he suggested that traditional Japanese Sake "yaki Chu" would be good. The next day, I had a really bad hangover, and while I feeling really sick, I performed a scene where I played the guitar in the meadow,” he said and smiled.
The film made its World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival in 2005, telling about a virus which killing people around the world and it also spreaded easily by pictures.
