THACCA with Thailand government co-hosting the ACFM opening reception in ACFM 2025

This year, the Asian Contents & Film Market 2025 (ACFM) Opening Ceremony is co-hosted by the ACFM organisers in collaboration with Thai government through "Thailand Creative Content Agency" (THACCA), Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Commerce.

Tanee Sangrat, Royal Thai Ambassador in Seoul attended the Asian Contents & Film Market 2025 (ACFM), as part of 30th Busan International Film Festival.

He visited Thai Pavilion and met all representatives from 15 Thai content companies at the event to build networks with Korean and international partners. He also delivered welcoming remarks at the ACFM 2025 Opening Ceremony.

He emphasised the important role of the content industry in driving both economic and social development. He also reaffirmed the Royal Thai Government's commitment to support and promote Thai content on the global stage. 

Previously, ambassador Tanee Sangrat also received the invitation for SS2026 collection show in Seoul Fashion Week and held the Thailand cultural events at the Royal Thai embassy in Seoul, along with many K-pop artists, renowned Thai and Korean influencers  guests , enlightened the international collaboration between two countries.

นายธานี แสงรัตน์ เอกอัครราชทูตไทย ประจำกรุงโซล เกาหลีใต้ ร่วมงาน ACFM 2025 ส่วนหนึ่งของเทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติปูซาน ครั้งที่ 30 ท่านได้เยี่ยมชมไทยพาวิลเลี่ยน พบปะตัวแทนจากบริษัทผู้ผลิตคอนเทนต์ไทย 15 บริษัทที่มาสร้างเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจทั้งในเกาหลีและต่างประเทศ และกล่าวต้อนรับแขกผู้มีเกียรติในพิธีเปิดงาน ACFM 2025 ด้วย

ท่านเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของอุตสาหกรรมคอนเทนต์ สามารถขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาทั้งเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นของรัฐบาลไทยที่จะสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมคอนเทนต์ไทยในเวทีโลก

ก่อนหน้านี้ ท่านทูตธานี แสงรัตน์ ยังได้รับเชิญร่วมชมคอลเลคชั่น SS2026 งานโซลแฟชั่นวีค เปิดประตูสถานเอกอัครราชทูตไทยในกรุงโซล ต้อนรับศิลปินเคป็อปและอินฟูเอนเซอร์ชื่อดังร่วมส่งต่อ "ความเป็นไทย" โหมโรงก่อนงาน Thai Festival in Seoul จะเริ่ม ส่งสัญญาณความร่วมมือระหว่าง 2 ประเทศให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น

Association for the Promotion of Film Culture, in collaboration with THACCA support "mini theaters" (Micro Cinemas) in Thailand

On August 21, Association for the Promotion of Film Culture, in collaboration with THACCA (Thailand Creative Culture Agency) and Department of Cultural Promotion - Ministry of Culture, officially launched the first project to support and expand film screening opportunities in "mini theaters" (Micro Cinemas) in Thailand nationwide. 

This project is designed to create a new space for "differentiated movie," including Indies films, alternative films and experimental films. It not only create access from filmmakers to the audiences, but also aim to promote small cinemas as key players in the Thai film ecosystem, foster new audiences and provide a platform for creators to showcase their work that might be omitted to show on the big screen.

"Today, Thai film industry is still dominated by major film markets and major chain theaters. Micro Cinema is another answer that not only create a space for diverse films, but also opens the door for all audiences nationwide to experience a new dimension of the films", President of Association for the Promotion of Film Culture said.

In the 1st phase, 5 mini theaters from 5 regions (Bangkok, Chanthaburi, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen and Trang) were selected as model cities for Thailand's Micro Cinema Network. More 30 quality films will be screened over 3 months, including short films, feature films, documentaries and experimental films, along with special activities such as Q&A discussion with directors and actors, and many activities to create new generation filmmakers in local communities, schools and universities.

This project not only decentralizes the film screenings away from Bangkok, but it also sparks a new era for the Thai film industry, giving a truly “Brave” space for storytelling.
